Disney and ROFR
So apart from making a profit why are Disney buying back so many contracts or have they always bought this many? Also if the seller wants to sell for X why do Disney care?

some people want to buy contracts at sold out resorts not through resale. A few years ago we wanted a particular size contract at one of the sold out resort as an add on. At that time there wasn't a huge difference between direct and resale. It took Disney about three weeks to locate one so I think it came through someone selling that contract on resale.
Just guessing but seems logical. |

1. Flip them at profit, but mainly to.
2. Keep resale prices higher, so they can maintain direct prices higher.

Agree with YorkshireT. This keeps resale prices higher, which in turn keeps direct prices high. BCV, for a 2042 resort is priced quiet high. I wonder if that will change when the Riveria resort opens...

They are fantastic resorts, but BCV and BWV are in my view priced too high. This is because the likelihood is the new purchaser will not keep for life of contract (the figures you see are average ownership is 15-20 years but some will obviously keep longer) and when you come to sell, it will have so little left on you could be losing out on a substantial sum of money compared to if you’d bought one with another 14 years on (which can be picked up for less money now). Imagine in 20 years what DVC could be priced at if it keeps going up like it has done for the last 20? It could be quite sickening to come to sell and reaslise you are missing out on tens of thousands in additional revenue.
