G Plan/ Parker Knoll Sofas?

Has anyone got a G Plan or Parker Knoll sofa, if so what is their quality like? I'm fed up of having to replace our sofas about every 5-6 years, I had the upholsterer out yesterday who told me it would be £850 to repair the two I currently have and that didn't include re-dying the leather on one cushion where the sun has bleached it. What I'd really love is a Duresta but having a dog, a messy husband and a clumsy daughter this would be silly so I'm looking at paying a bit more than I usually do for a good brand leather sofa which I hope will last me about ten years.

Don't have experience of GPlan or Parker Knoll but my Laura Ashley Sofas are still going strong 14 years later and have survived children, pets and parties! The leather has that antique look so if anything has improved with age, I just use leather cream and cleaner occasionally to keep it looking its best. I change the cushions frequently when I fancy a change, much cheaper than buying a new sofa too. Hope this helps

I have had my stressless sofas and chair 19 years now and my parents have had theirs longer than that. Great quality and would get another.

I had 2 lovely G plan sofas that were 12 years old and still brilliant. Then mil managed to get her embroidery scissors caught and slit one of the cushions. Insurance wouldn't let me reupholster but would let me buy new We then bought M&S which although they are now 13 years old are not as good but can't be bothered looking for new

Just got back from Saxon and JL which we went to today. Saxon had lots of Chesterfields but as DH is tall he likes the back support, plus they were all either too hard or too soft for. JL had a few but the ones I really liked were very expensive, as DH says about me Rolls Royce taste, Mini income . So it is back to the drawing board and maybe get a quote off another repairman.

I'd heard good things about Saxon form others too but there was just nothing there for us at that time, the assistant kept walking along, stopping and pulling at her leggings between her thighs which must have been sticking to her, I think she needed some talc .
