Flying back from Miami

on Monday and Google says just over 3.5 hrs. I presume that's not too accurate? apart from allowing extra time to get us there, is MIA as easy as MCO to return our car to please?

MIA is easy to return the car IF you choose to pay for fuel, because refuelling near the airport's rental car center is a nightmare (involves u-turns in heavy traffic) .. we flew out of MIA 6 weeks ago and we're glad we prepaid for fuel

then monorail, then you'll have a looooong trek along endless moving walkways from the rental car center to the international terminal
checkin is madness, security is equally busy.

if you drive down from orlando, allow 4hrs via turnpike, that's the time it took us and there was no traffic whatsoever until ten miles from the airport.

then allow 1hr for car return, check in, and security.

Thanks that sounds ok. Not too worried about the car return being off-site as we have done San Francisco which is similar more worried about being stuck in traffic near the airport. Is there a mall nearby if we need to kill time? We thought we would leave around 10ish and stop for lunch on route.u

We left Kissimmee at 6:30,had breakfast at a service area ,returned car and were waiting for check-in to open at 11.30 . Flight wasn't until 17:10 but rather sit at the airport than in a traffic jam.We used the turnpike and has pre paid fuel.
