Paying cash for room via DVC

Im sure I read somewhere that you can get 25% discount if you paying cash for a room reservation.

Can anyone confirm this and if so how would I go about booking this.

It used to be the case and you had to phone member services to do it so it might be worth giving them a ring to ask - or using the on line chat which might be quicker.

Thanks I have tried that but the live chat is so busy I gave up. Maybe try later.

Just trying to get something booked for 8th December for a week but no availability via points so looking at cash purchase

You can check availability on the regular US reservation system. If a DVC room is listed for cash then Member Services may offer a discount but you have to call. I tried last week for a one bed BCV for end Nov but was quoted full price. The CM told me discounts depend on how desperate the cash system is to offload the room.

Put your dates in and search. Any DVC room showing available on the search will be showing on Member services cash system too.

Member services told me that they could sell me a cash room for my 1 missing night in November. They said all they had to offer was a studio OKW or SSR for $600! On the Disney site I can book POR for under $300 so I politely declined.

I've been quoted for a couple of cash rooms but in both cases it was way too much compared to other options, even renting points is cheaper! First time we went to BV Palace & second time we just went to RPR -not only was that a fraction of the price but got Express Passes for 4 days!
