A.O (Abbreviation obsession)

Can someone tell me why Everyone on the forum seems to be obsessed with abbreviations? I find I spend more time trying to work out what they mean than actually reading the posts. It is most off putting to new members it makes you feel like am outsider not being part of the secret abbreviation club.

I dont see it a childish practice no one is bragging about how many times they have been they are just answering a question but I do feel that the OP is one of Snow whites little friends and I dont mean Happy
