Disney APs - How long to renew?
Does anyone know how long you have to renew a Disney Annual Pass, and if the renewal runs from the date the previous pass expired or the actual date you renew?
We're looking at buying one AP this Easter (March 2016), but would like to renew next summer (August 2017). Would this count as a renewal, paying a renewal price? Or would it be seen as a new AP, paying full price? If we renewed in August 2017, would the pass run from March 2016?

You can renew a pass up to 60 days before expiry and up to 30 days after expiry.
If you renew your expiration date remains the same - so if it expired 31/3/17 and you renewed it your new expiration would be 31/3/18. Last time I did the calculation if you weren't going to use it for more than 6 weeks then it was better to get a new pass when you needed it. This was about 18 months ago though. We have passes that expire in August but they won't be renewed we will buy new ones in December. On the other hand DDs is always renewed as it expires while we are there in December. |
