Rooms for 5

So our family group will be Daughter and Son-in-Law and twin 7 year old girls, and myself. Looking for the most economic on-site option for us that will include a separate room for me! Last time we went, we had two adjoining rooms at AKL which was great, but wondering if there are better options. All thoughts welcome.

I am a bit confused as your thread title says room for 5 but in your post you mention you want a separate room, so you don’t really want a room for 5? The WDW rooms for 5 are literally five sleeping in the same room.

There are villas but I don’t think a one bedroom one will suit a party of 4 + 1 as the main bedroom is usually a king rather than two queens. Two bedroom or three bedroom villas get into silly money territory. To be honest, I think booking your room separately would be the way to go.

Thanks Claudette, I should have headed accommodation for 5 rather than room. I had in mind that some dvc large units can be available to book, and wasn’t sure if that was the case or if they would be hideously expensive. I think you’re probably right and that 2 rooms is the answer, although you then have the problem that you can’t book adjoining rooms in advance. Last time we had to change rooms after a couple of days.

Old Key West has rooms that would fit you all and it’s a really nice resort.
There’s the suites at Art of Animation as well which are cute if you have younger kids.
