I feel like the airlines / tour operators are going to have to hook up with some test centers in holiday resorts if they want people to travel with them, but at the moment, it's all up in the air, as the government haven't actually specified what is required.
The link I’ve posted above includes test centres that are free and don’t require you to have symptoms. Of course things can change but good to know there are options available at the moment.

Also if you do test positive for covid where will you go.
Will the airport arrange travel to a specially selected hotel.
All seems like extra stress and even having the 2 covid vacines it won't stop you getting it

No that would be like asking if a British person today wants to fly to a country that requires a positive test and they test neg will Heathrow or the UK government get them accommodation. No. When countries have mandatory hotel quarantine they escort people entering their country to the MQHs.

You would have to sort yourself out and follow the guidelines set by Florida at the time.

The cost of a potential negative test might be more than the holiday depending on how long you need to isolate for and I can’t see insurers that cover this eventuality will pay hotel etc direct.
Yes and it's good practice regardless. I know it's not ideal for those who save and save just to afford the holiday and it does make travel easier for those better off but you never know when travelling what could go wrong. From a car accident, to an ash cloud to a health emergency to missing your flight for something outside your control but not covered by insurance and having a credit card (ideally) or extra cash is an absolute essential for me for a US trip.

At the end of the day there are 2 choices - go or not & really that's the only part of this that we can control. The current International Travel Roadmap is May, July,Oct.. IMO they are still trying to discourage travellers for May but there will be additional pressure from Airlines etc so first real changes will be July but just as easily there could be a 4th wave & it's all moot. Of course we then need USA to open up & detail their restrictions, if any but unless any of us are sitting on Cobra or CDC meetings there is nothing we can change or control.
My advice for those that are worried/stressing about the "ifs, buts & maybes" forget 2021,possibly 2022 & hope for 2023
I know that last paragraph sounds harsh, it's not meant to be, but I'm not eloquent enough to say it differently

2023? 25% of Americans are fully vaccinated, and they only started vaccinating recently.

Not necessarily savings or a good credit card ... more good insurance!

Some Travel insurance will cover the cost of a hotel/accommodation if you test positive and have to self isolate i think!

Most policies that do cover you will likely require you to pay for any quarantine and then reclaim it.

You may get a pre approval but likely you will have to pay first.

This is very true - as soon as the insurer starts to pay for your hotel accommodation, it will be of a budget variety and in a location of their choosing.

If you think back to the Icelandic ash-cloud in 2010 which stranded people in Florida, many people were put up in the Comfort Inn [which became known as "Camp Comfort"] on I-Drive as soon as the insurer had to foot the bill.

Many people on here were somewhat vocal & unhappy on this, as they'd had their 2 weeks at, say, Disney's Grand Floridian [which they had paid for] and then were being moved to somewhere rather more budget-orientated when the insurer or tour operator [for those on package holidays] was footing the bill.

As 400ixl said, this is the scenario I’m anticipating. I assumed it would be the same as with most insurances.. you pay then claim back and hopefully the insurance pays out.
