We've got one of those freestanding ones that you hang the pipe out the window. So bloody noisy we end up not using it 🙄

A proper one would be ideal 👍

Summer is my least favourite time of year, followed by spring…

I’m not a fan of the sun and the heat at all, even abroad I struggle.

I just want to cosy up on the couch, candles lit and the fire on.

We tried one of those years ago and we had the same issue it was too noisy, plus having a window open to hang the hose out is letting warm air in so isn't ideal.

We have the proper split air con units and they are money well spent (they also work as a heater in the winter). My loft conversion is unbearable to sleep in when it's warm and closing all the windows and putting it on at night not only gives me a good night's sleep but also stops the outside noise.

I’ve got the parasol up and it’s lovely outside with a breeze and some shade. But I don’t want to be out in the direct sun for long.

It's intensely hot here in Virginia. Truly hot.

Re air conditioning.

Ideally you want to make something to block the window with a hole for the pipe to go through.

Or better still get a proper air con unit installed.

It’s nice sat outside under the parasol, as we have a nice gentle breeze. DH far more tolerant of heat than me and he is happily weeding the flower beds.
Was far too hot last night, so bit the bullet and bought a Dyson fan, which is being delivered tomorrow.
