Does anyone have anything good to say about Thrifty?’

Please? 🙂. Andy found us a great price with them but I’m reading awful things about them...

55 views and nobody has a positive comment about them - I guess that answers my question

Sorry, we changed from thrifty after hearing some nightmares about them, we’re driving Miami to Port Canaveral and back and it would be over $100 just for the tolls

Seem fine to me. Climbing nicely in the J D Power survey on rental cars.

Just ahead of Dollar who are hugely on the rise and just behind Alamo who are falling.

If the price was right I would use them.

Lets be honest the best in a survey can produce a dog on the day and the worst can produce a brand new car. Luck of the draw.

Hmm, difficult one as we thought they were great, until they fleeced us by confusing me when we picked up our car in Vegas a few weeks ago. I thought I had paid for a full tank of fuel in advance, as part of the hire deal, but as it turns out I hadn't prepaid and when the guy said, "the tank is full, just bring it back empty", I believed him, until I saw my credit card bill last week and realised I had been charged an extra £35 by them. Lesson learned, and I'm not saying I wouldn't use them again, but I will be more careful and distrusting next time.

My last trip was the first time I used Thrifty. I think I got the dog that day

No cars left in my category and when one did arrive it was pretty old.

Haven't used them but about 18months ago I booked with Dollar and when queuing at MCO the guy on the Thrifty counter in a Thrifty T shirt called me over and sorted my booking. They're both the same company (Hertz too - I think, happy to be corrected if that's wrong) and shared a counter even if the branding was different on each half.

Check in was fine, the guy was quick efficient and pleasant - I told him I didn't want any extras (checked the receipt and he hadn't added any.) The car - from Dollar - was a new Nissan Rogue. I didn't have any extras on my credit card or anything like that after the holiday so all in all they were excellent.

I'd be happy to use Thrifty or Dollar again but booked with Alamo this time simply because they were the cheapest through DCFH. You can never guarantee what service you will get, even Alamo, who always seemed to be the best seem to be on their way down now.

As above. Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty are sister companies.

Oh that's interesting - TrustPilot has them at 84% negative!

I'm not bothered about a fancy schmancy car, it's just the stories of them being overly tough with the upsells and that's the bit we always hate.
