Cost of car seats
Help! We are about to book but have a question on car seats. Our little ones will be 7 & 5 so a car seat is a must for us. I have seen that many people buy them in the US for a good price but what about from the airport? Can you hire them for just 1 day from the car hire companies. I have also read on a lot of the sites that if we do rely on the car hire company there is no guarantee they will have seats available (our friends coming with us also so we will need 4 seats in total) depending on demand. I am not willing to compromise on the kids safety so what's the best way to go. We have maxi cosi rodifix in UK so they are very heavy for transporting with two kids and suitcases etc. TIA xx

Wouldn't they be boosters rather than seats you need for that age?
Car hire companies charge through the nose for seats - even if you could get one for a day you would have to take it back... I would either take a cheap one or buy one from the nearest Walmart.

First time we took our own with us which we use in our car. Last year they were big enough for booster seats which I packed in the suitcases.

OP. I know some people use those Trunki things for the trip from the airport to Walmart.
Some also use those inflatable seats in the same fashion. Both fine for a short trip. With your 2 and their ages a booster will be fine for Florida law. All contained in the Dibb Guidebook if you have a little mooch. Should help you out ref the law.

Fwiw we hired one from avis and it was $65 for 14 days. I'm the grand scheme of the multi thousand holiday I thought that wasn't much.
But yes if you want multiples it does add up. |

I think it's the hiring a horrible dirty one often more expensive than buying a new one that annoys people.
If it's a booster even worse - I think they are $12 in Walmart...
