I completely agree with you regarding Downtown Seattle. It was 2016 when I went, and it was OK, it not somewhere I would rush back to. I’ve had friends go since and they’ve been horrified at the change.

However, if you head that way again, I HIGHLY recommend the San Juan islands. It sounds just up your street, but greenery, nature (including Orcas), quiet and safe. It’s my absolute favourite place in the world
