Disney themselves? So many questions asked on here could be answered just by giving Disney a quick call.

It's true that many questions you see here on the DIBB could be answered by calling Disney or just doing a simple Google search. However...

First, many people find it easier to ask questions here on the DIBB (or other forums) rather than finding Disney's phone number, calling them, waiting to get through and talking to someone (etc). And sometimes it's nice to talk to fellow travellers and fans about these things rather than a person in a call centre (even Disney themselves recognise this and is why they created the Disney Mom's Panel website).

Second, Disney may just repeat the information that's provided on it's ticket confirmation emails - that you pick up your plastic tickets at the Will Call kiosks at the parks. Plus, I suspect Disney doesn't understand what is meant by "throwaway room".

Third, does it matter if someone asks a question here on the DIBB that could be answered elsewhere? It's what the DIBB's here for.

Anyway, the OP's question has been answered now so they don't need to call Disney. Job done.

Is that not a point of forum? If we could all get the answers we wanted direct from disney (which don't always have the answer to the inner workings of things believe it or not!)then whats the point?

People on here are normally a lot more knowledgeable than the Disney CMs. Plus it also helps everyone else out who browses the forums. You find out answers to questions you hadn't considered yourself, but maybe should have!

As for a "quick" call, here's someone's experience in trying to contact Disney from another thread:

You can see why some people might not want to give Disney a "quick" 2 hour phone call. In this case, the OP's question was answered in 53 minutes on here and before Disney's phone lines opened at 9am.

Blimey AB its only a question. I know it can be frustrating to see 5 new posts on magic bands, FP bookings etc everyday when theres a link and video on Dibb helpguide... but people like replies from people.
