Is Edinburgh busy
I'm still undecided on a short break somewhere. Toying with the idea of Edinburgh now, maybe next week if the weather forecast looks ok.
I know August is normally a busy time but I was wondering if it's quieter due to Covid restrictions

Not busy by usual August standards but definitely picked up since pubs and eateries reopened. Many things such as the Castle, Zoo, etc are back open but tickets need to be pre booked.

I've booked 3 nights in Edinburgh starting next Thursday. I've booked restaurants for our evening meals and did not get our preferred times in 2 restuarants. Mind you, ive done my homework and only booked places that are rigidly sticking to distancing rules.

I’ve been in Edinburgh all day today. It’s definitely got tourists about and places are open. Got me thinking how nice it would be to spend a couple of days here.

I was out in Edinburgh on Saturday and it was busy but not horrible. August is usually carnage and we love a day out at the Fringe. This year was lovely in a different way, I really enjoyed it.

As someone who lives there I can def say it’s no where near it’s normal August madness and tbh it’s lovely! It’s probably a good time to visit as lots of things reopening and you’ll get around town much easier etc. August can be a mix of weather but it’s certainly not cold we had heavy rains this morning temp around 19 and then late afternoon and this e evening it’s been lovely. I have a season ticket for the zoo as I live 10/15mins walk away and have visited twice over last few weeks and it’s been great, it’s all very well organised but you should book ahead via the website If I can help let me know x

All of this, except I’m a 25 minute walk from the zoo.
What I’d consider the good restaurants are booking up due to the reduced capacities and a lot of places aren’t doing walk ins due to the contact track and trace requirements, so do give some advance thought and planning on food.
