Virgin Atlantic Credit Card Refund

I’ve just received my refund from virgin holidays and they refunded the payment onto my virgin Atlantic credit card.

I didn’t owe anything on the credit card and my balance now shows that I’m in credit. Does anyone have any experience with getting the money off the credit card and into my bank account without getting charged for transferring the money to my bank account?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I know some Cards do levy a charge

The way I did it was to message them from the Card menu asking was there a fee.

As soon as they replied there wasn't I sent a reply asking for the monies to be transferred. I had a message back saying it would take 3 days but it actually happened in a few hours.

I’ve done it this week really easy and free as long as you’ve got no payments pending on the card otherwise they will charge you 5%. I waited a couple of days for pending payments to clear and rang back.

No problem and in my bank account within a couple of days.

In my experience VA credit card are inconsistent in their approach to this. DH and I have separate accounts and are additional card holders on each others. Our Tui flights were paid for on both cards, so each account had a positive balance when our refunds came through.

I made the one phone call to request transfer to our joint bank account from each card. The transfer from DH's card was made without fees. The transfer from my card incurred two separate types of fee, which were reversed the following day before I'd even realised they had been made. When the monthly statement was issued there was an interest charge even though I have never failed to clear the full balance or made a late payment. I had to contact them to reverse it.

All our refunds this year went onto our Virgin Atlantic card so I’ve had to ring a Lupe of times and had no issue and not been charged.

Hi Tom,

You said you messaged them from the card menu. Was this in the app or on a website? Just wondering what the best way of contacting them is?

I'm an old dinosaur so don't use Apps much. I went on the PC and did it that way.

The message section is in the 'services' tab

When that is open you will see a box on the far right entitled 'Have a question about your account? We're here to help'

Under that is Send Message.
