The airline cancel your remaining flights if you don't catch the connection from your originating city.

That seems most likely! I am going to query it with BA and see what their thoughts are on the matter.

The OP is quoting booking flights from Madrid to MIAMI not MCO. as much cheaper.

You don't need to ask them tbh, it's standard policy of all airlines to cancel the remaining flights on your booking once you miss a leg.

The flights I quoted are to Miami. Direct from Madrid

NewtoOrlando and Disney Cupcake are correct if you don't take MAD-LHR then all other segments are cancelled.

Try Dublin
We are using Dublin in May to the west coast. Shorter flight than Spain , you clear US immigration at Dublin if you are using Aer Lingus or AA (eg not flying out via lLondon).

I’ve done it several times , also done it from Scandinavia .
We don’t regard it as a chore but as an extra bit of holiday, next year we will have 2 nights in Dublin rather than do it as a separate trip another time.

Our trip booked from London in PE was the same cost as starting in Dublin but Dublin is PE out back in Business.
