Barcelona and which beach resort?

Looking at visiting Barcelona next May (2022). 3-4nts there followed by 6nts on a beach.

Will be me, DH, DS (age 4.5) and DD will be 15mths.
Would like a nice safe sand beach, a few shops, cafes, restaurants etc
Easy distance and transport to Barcelona.

Don't need nightlife or heaps of activities as just looking to swim, walk and relax.

Have a look at salou. Lovely beaches, easily accessible on train from Barcelona, and has portaventura theme park which is fab.

We stayed in Port Salou - quieter than Salou but close by.

Another vote for Port Salou, theme park there if you want it as well..
