End August - Mid September Weather & Crowds Experiences

DD has decided she'd like to spend her 21st Birthday in Orlando! We're likely to fly out on 28th August 2020 for 2 weeks. How do the weather and Disney/Universal crowds at this time of year compare to end June - mid July?

It'll rain every afternoon. Doesn't usually last long. Very hot. Very similar to July weather really.

Crowd-wise, this is a great time. All the US schools have gone back, and the UK visitors are dwindling too. Your first week will be quiet. The second week will be extremely quiet.

Ideal time to go IMHO.

Maybe not as quiet as you hope with SWGE opening on the 29th August which is the same day as the EPCOT food and wine festival.

The OP says 2020 in their post and SWGE is opening this year. So a year to go before their trip.

We have been a couple of time Mid Sept and enjoyed it, did find it got busier or at least felt busier each year... cant say we noticed a significant difference in the weather.

That's when I like to go. Always had a great time. We've had two hurricane scares but nothing that stopped us doing anything - just a quick re-jig of plans - i.e go to the shops instead of a park.
