Mobile Roomba vacuum

Hi. Anyone have one of these?

We have a shedding dog at home, and horses and donkeys at another property, and our floors are always grotty. I must sweep 3x a day but they still feel gritty.
I won’t have carpets, but we have a mix of laminate, tiles and Lino downstairs.
I was thinking we could buy a second hand one and set this to run whilst either all 3 of us are out, or just DH and the dog.
Any hints and tips?

Is it one of those little robot hoover things? If so I’ve only seen “accidents” with these shared and in YOU TOO if I’m not wrong. If you have a pet make sure there are no accidents cos it gets a bit messy

I have one, it is set up in the living room and we program it to come on every night in the early hours. We tend to keep it to just that room as we don’t find it moves from room to room very well, gets stuck in door ways for example.

The dogs went ballistic when we first got it, chasing it around but they got used to it and as I say we usually just leave it to find in at night.

It has never had an “accident”, I am curious as to what that might mean.

I’m pretty sure something happens with one in YOU TOO but also there was something shared on FB the other day where gadgets go wrong. There was a Roomba - the dog had done it’s doggie mess indoors and the Roomba had “cleared it up” - it was not a pretty sight and I assume not an easy task to clean it 🤮

My dog definitely never messes inside so no concerns about that.
He would be scared of it though I think, but there are plenty of times he’s out that we could run it.
What is YOU TOO please?

Reminds me of a mystery story (Jonathan creek I think) where an old lady thought she had a ghost or burglar because her husband's ashes urn had been smashed but no ashes remained.

Spoiler : the roomba had clattered into the display table knocking them over, then proceeded to clean up the mess it had made

We have one, had it for about 3 years, love it.

Still need to "proper" vacuum about twice a month as they aren't as powerful as a full blown Dyson corded machine.

That said though they are great for a quick spruce up and no effort at all
