Help with Disney Tickets - do we get 14 or 15 days

We're staying offsite this year, we're there for 18 nights (so excited, can't wait), we're planning on getting 14 day Disney tickets... reading a few different posts, that you can get 15 days from a 14 day ticket.
Is that the case ? How does it work ? I thought, that 1st entry into the park would be day 1... so if day 1 was in the park was Saturday 1st, last day would be Friday 14th.
Anyone shed any light …. please...

You can use if on your 15th day if you don't use a day during your stay.

We used our tickets on our 15th day after missing a day at universal.

Ditto we done same with our disney 14 day tickets. You know you are ok as you can book fast passes ahead of time for day 15

Would love any info on Day 15 fps, we're booking no fp for day 1 as we land very late, so I'm currently only able to book 13 days of FP.

We used our tickets for 15 days: this is from their website

“Disney's Ultimate Tickets expire 14 days after first day of use for 7- and 14-Day Tickets and 21 days from first day of use for a 21-Day Ticket.”

I understand this to mean 1 + 14 days.

If you’re staying onsite you should be able to book length of stay although the system will only let you book 14 days if you have 14 day tickets.

I definitely booked 15 days of fast passes with fourteen day tickets last trip. I didn't turn up on the last day so didn't actually use the tickets on 15 days, however I can clearly see from my planning spreadsheet that I booked FP on all 15 days. My timings in the spreadsheet are very precise 10:05am for example, as I update the planning spreadsheet when I have made the actual bookings.
