GCSE year finish date

25th May for my year 11. Also 4 weeks of exams leading up to that date.

Once again the government have made a vague statement leaving it down to individual schools to sort things out. No work after half term counts towards grades so what incentive is there for children to attend school up to the end of June? I know there are a large number of students in year 11 that would and would work well but many would see it as pointless and vote with their feet or behave in a manner that would be disruptive as they would see no consequence on their grades for this.
The government initially said grades this year would be in line with last year. Now grades will be compared to 2017-19 and schools will have to evidence some how if they are outside of this. All more work for schools and students, in a shorter time frame than normal years, as many have said.
So frustrating.

I have a year 13 in college and a year 11 in school and they are both finishing on May 21st!
They have both been asked to stay available until the 28th just in case.

DS in year 11 has nearly finished a string of assessments then in May they will do more formal exams in every subject too.
DD only has one theory exam for her Dance A Level in May and her practical is next week, she does two BTECs as well so no exams for them

we got an email today

2 weeks of assessments w/c 17th & 24th May including formal exam type tests in exam setting
After the 1/2 term they will move to remote learning until June 24th so they do not have to go in to school but will still be at school and have work to do.
If they need to complete extra work/coursework or need additional support they will be required to attend in person after half term this will only be a small number of students though all students must be available to attend school if asked until June 18th.

DD is in year 13 and she finishes on 21 May. They’ve just had assessments and then they are sitting college set exams (in exam conditions) from mid May. No new content being taught since before Easter. All lessons have been focused on consolidating previous learning and preparing for assessments / exams.

My son is year 13 and is currently having 2 weeks of assessments. He has others in May. They officially finish on 28th May.

Just found out this evening that DS16 will finish on 28/5, he needs to be available up until 18/6.

DS officially finishes on Friday 28th May and has a celebration evening on the 27th so the Friday will be a half day too!
