Mobile Gulf Coast last 5 nights

Can you recommend your favourite Gulf Coast location and tell me why?

We've visited Clearwater the last few years and would like a change. But we do like a nice beach, walking distance to restaurants and a bit of entertainment.

Any suggestions? Most likely I'll book a hotel with Avios these night.

Thanks

We love Siesta Key... Crescent Beach area..
There are a couple of bars/restaurant across the road from where we stayed.
The bar had live bands on an evening and Karaoke on one evening..
Captain Curt's Sniki Tiki Bar and Crescent Club.
They were always full and it was lovely to sit and listen to them from the garden of our rental.

Siesta Key village also has many bars and restaurants..

Both of these are a 2 minute walk to the beach...and there are plenty of public access areas.

For us it is Sanibel Island, very laid back and quiet, nice beaches, lots of shells, and really good choice of places to eat - no chains.

We have hired a villa for 9 nights in Sabal harbour 20 mins to Anna Maria island and 30 mins to Siesta Key. I have only been to Clearwater and St Petes beach but have looked on you tube and loved the look of these places so cant wait to go there!

Thanks so much for your replies! I'd like a resort type hotel as we'll have been self catering for 2 weeks beforehand. But I still don't want to have to take the car just to go get something from a shop etc.

Might be a bit near Clearwater, but might fit your bill is the Bilmar on Treasure Island. A publix a couple of hundred yards away gives you the supermarket. Sloppy Joes and a beach cafe in hotel, and across the street are a few shops and restaurants. Ricky T has music to 1.00 am (inside after 10.00) . A number of restaurants, cafes and bars in this area all within a 200 yard radius, so plenty to chose from without using the car. The trolly bus also goes along the road and goes to St Petes and Clearwater, allowing you to use it to get to Johns Pass Village with its speciality shops and restaurants about 2 miles away.
On the beach. What else would you want. Rooms have fridge, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. Efficiencies have sink and electric hob, no cooker though.Resort fee includes bikes, beach chairs and kayaks but is 20 per day

We stay in Venice at the Ramada, very reasonable, very nice and close to Venice ave shops and restaurants, 5 mins from Caspersen beach. We like Venice as it is very much quieter than resorts like Clearwater.
