Costco covers all taxes etc, but

to get the better deal you need to pay up front and Costco charge £30 for a change/cancellation, so with the current high prices not sure if its a deal or a liability.
DFCH seems to have equal prices, with no deposit and zero change/cancel fee, so I know who I would use and I'm a great fan of costo, but would pass for my dates.

There is only a cancellation fee if you’re within 2 days (Hertz) or 3 days (Enterprise) of your rental starting. We’ve cancelled and rebooked twice recently and had no cancellation charges applied. The cancellation email we received mentioned a charge if more than 7 days since making the booking but their t&c’s state no charges other than I mentioned above.

I agree that if prices are same with DFCH I’d opt to book with Andy too. Unfortunately for our dates his prices are still higher but I’m keeping an eye on them in case that changes.

Same here, we have previously cancelled a Costco booking (Hertz) and providing you are more than 48 hours out, there was no cancellation charge.

We have booked again through Costco for next summer and again on the paperwork it states no cancellation fee up to 48 hours from collection.

Ali.

Thats good to know no cancellation fee if more than 2 days out, the pay in full in advance to get the better price is still not so nice. Also good that for some dates they are coming out cheaper, unfortunately not for my target dates.

No issues with cancellations, I booked a few weeks ago on a pay later on and at the time it was cheaper to pay later, however since then I found a buy now cheaper yesterday. So cancelled online with no issues, however as I have now paid in full it does say I need to ring up to cancel. But no issues in doing so if I need to cancel.

Just to add that when I cancelled the guy on the other end of the phone (incredibly helpful btw) advised me to rebook before cancelling in case the price increased. However as we discovered you have to adjust your times slightly as it won’t accept two identical bookings or just cancel first and then rebook and take a chance for a few minutes.

We’ve recently booked and paid upfront with Costco. But we recently changed our dates and cancelled our booking. Wasn’t a problem and refund sorted after about 7 days. We’re looking to rebook soon but also keeping an eye on DFCH.
