We normally fill up at the seven eleven on the corner of World Centre Drive and the 535, then its straight on to the 417 to Sanford by the time we get there the gauge hasn't moved at all and that's in a full size car, never had an excess charge.

Don’t think so. At the barrier I noticed the charges. The “refuelling fee” is built into the extra price per gallon. The notice said something like this (figures very approximate)

Cost per gallon pre-paid $2.45
Cost per gallon we refuel $3.55
Cost local garage $2.30

Just driving out after the flight I wasn’t with it enough to take a proper note or even a picture.

I’ve also heard with Alamo at least provided it’s nearly full ie over 7/8ths full they don’t charge

Always pay upfront. Last hire, i said in passing i doubt i'll use more than half a tank, only had for two days, shopping and visiting Cat Cafe, Bloke at the Dolphin only charged for a half tank..

Result.
