Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration Closed After Only 6 weeks!
Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration opened at the Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland only six weeks ago, and already it is expected to close - within the next two weeks in fact. The show has failed to win over audiences as Disney has been inundated with complaints, and formus and other Disney sites have been filled with bad reviews. The main criticisms voiced on discussion forums and review pages are the total lack of shade for the guests - the stage is slap bang in the middle of Tomorrowland, and is not covered so is constantly under direct sunlight. There are no seats here either so guests are forced to sit on the scorching concrete. The poor story line has also been deemed "boring and un-eventful". It isn't clear yet what changes will be made to the show, but with the high-tech facility that was built, you can expect some kind of rework or new show to appear quickly. Could this be one of Disney's biggest mistakes, or maybe even the shortest running attraction? We will have to see what the future holds for this old, but already exhausted area of Tomorrowland.

They had a large mat on the floor last Friday for people to sit on.
Lots of people stood quite a distance behind us under the shade of the Transit Authority track. Also, Stitch only makes an appearance right at the end for one song (prob due to the costume/heat) so hopefully a much improved version on the horizon. Saying that our 2.5 yr old loved all the dancers and needed no encouraging to join in. |

I can think of another Stitch attraction which should go too
I love Stitch as a character but the attractions featuring him have been very poor |

to be honest, i think it was supposed to be a bit of fun for children - not a huge theatrical production so its not going to have the most interesting storyline really. i think they could have some sort of removable canopy though to provide shelter from the heat. Other than that, i dont see a major problem!

Oh dear! We only caught the end of this when we were then a couple of weeks ago and I promised DD, who is a massive Stitch fan, we would go see it in October. I'll be in trouble now.

I presume that means "guests". In various parts of the UK calling someone a "get" is a huge insult. Just thought I'd highlight it...

We have watched Lilo & Stitch again to give it another chance but I'm afraid my family still don't get it so it's one attraction we would be happy to avoid (along with the other dreadful Stitch attraction).

I agree with you there ... I actually quite liked the original experience (though it was defo in the wrong park) but the stitch one is still too dark for little kids and too stupid for anyone over the age of 5 imo
