Its not just to hire your car if you get stopped by the police over there they will ask you for both parts ,i may be wrong but im sure i have read on the dibb somewhere that if you havent got the paper bit the police can fine you (i may be wrong tho )

We have been to florida eight times and I have never been asked to show the green paper part, maybe we were just lucky.

I was asked for both parts at MCO exit kiosk we were over in May. Booking with Alamo Brits they state this on the booking forms I think

Could your Aunt put it in a taxi for you? I know it would cost but it may be worth it. The taxi could drop it off at your hotel.

Sounds like the policy has changed, I will double check I have my copy, if you have a second driver (BA give a free second driver with AVIS) do you need it for them as well?

If this proves to be an issue, which I think it may, I would see if someone can courier the paper bit to you... by Fedex or DHL... you would then have it in a couple of days.

We are going to get it faxed but then get our friends to bring it out on Monday. Fingers crossed!

Sorry to say but we have always been asked for our licences. My husband has an old paper one and I have a new type with the card and extra sheet of paper. We checked in online last month and went straight to the Alamo garage to pick up the car. The man in the booth on the way out asked to see them both.

Hope you manage to get them to you somehow.

Ah that's a relief. We've never been asked for the paper part yet in 8 years driving in USA but we always have it with us, just in case. Hope this doesn't disrupt your holiday, have a wonderful time
