Travel Feb/March

Hi all,

Just after a few opinions/ advise - looking at doing a trip in the earlier part of next year which we have never done before - just want to see when is good to go between Feb-March - anything times in particular to avoid? I know there is a UK half term in Feb but anything else? What is the weather usually like?

Thanks in advance!

We went 21st feb-9th March this year. It was quite busy but we felt it was the same level of busyness as it was when we previously visited in July/August and April.

However, the weather was almost perfect for us. It wasn't the high humidity, boiling heat like summer months. It was lovely and warm. Evenings were a little chilly and we had to wear jumpers but not too cold

There is also the Run Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend which is 20 - 23rd February, the races (5k, 10K & half marathon) are 21st - 23rd but runners have to register at the Expo so it will start to get busy a couple of days before.

There is the Epcot Festival of the Arts January 17-February 24 2020, and then the Flower and Garden Festival that starts 4 March. Both are great festivals to go to - both have food booths, the Festival of the Arts has concerts and various activities going on, while Flower and Garden has beautiful topiaries and flowers and also I think concerts.

Also Universal should have Mardi Gras running - great fun, especially the Mardi Gras parade!

Weather highly variable. When I went in March 2017 it was freezing and I was wearing a trench and a scarf in the morning! Then in February 2018 it was very nice weather only needing a cardigan in the morning and late at night, then short sleeves in the afternoon.

As others have mentioned - US holidays are going to have an impact on the parks, as will the runDisney Princess half marathon. Then spring break starts in March and can go on until April (different spring break dates for different states/districts/schools/universities/etc). Upside of higher crowds is that the parks might be open for longer (earlier openings/later closings).
