How to store reusable straws

Hi

I have purchased metal reusable straws for a our trip this year. We are keen to be kinder to the environment but must admit the purchase was prompted as we all detest using paper straws, especially when they go soggy

The straws came with a cleaning brush but no way of storing them for travel. I plan to carry them around with us when we are out and about but I’m at a loss as to how to store them.

I had the (what I thought was a) genius idea of buying toothbrush travel storage tubes to keep them in but on measuring, it turns out they will be too small. I have also noticed small fabric drawstring bags online but thought they might get a bit damp and soggy when putting the straws back in after rinsing.

I feel like the ideal storage solution is out there, I just don’t know where to find it. How do you store your reusable straws?

We have the folding ones that fit into a metal tube, with carabiner . About the size of a small pen.

It makes me smile when people complain about paper straws - when I was a child all straws were made from waxed paper, there was no such thing as plastic straws - we just had to cope when they got soggy When the end got flattened you just squeezed it open again, then maybe turned the straw upside down to drink from the clean end. Ah, the good old days...

I have noticed recently that many of the reusable straws come with brushes that are shorter than the straw itself. Perfect for pushing the gunk up and down inside the inside of the straw without actually pushing it out.
