Joy dont give up, keep asking as there will be something out there that can help. Forums are a good source of info. You may even find your particular problem is a temporary reaction to your first week's build up of the chemical & your body is reajusting to cope accordingly.
Fingers crossed you will be sorted soon.

I am not on Chemo but other drugs I find Yakult very good. I have Corhn's Disease. I am no stranger to the behaviour of your digestive system that you describe it's awful. so sorry to hear about your horrid experience and the fact you need to be taking it in the first place. Poor love.

Hi
I think like lots of people, I also found it very difficult to want to eat when on Chemo. Nothing tasted the same as it should. I found something light was best for me to eat.
My evening meal on quite a few occasions was
Lightly cooked Plain Salmon, baby new potatoes and fresh baby plum tomatoes. Soft to eat and Nothing greasy or too highly flavoured.
Oh, and I still like to eat Salmon.

Take care,

Keep on and on and on.

When my late husband was ill he had a host of reactions to several different chemo's and we found to his costthat there's always something but it's usually very expensive and they try not to prescribe it and they take you through everything else first to see if something else will work.

Don't sit back in silence, suffering, keep on. Ring your Doctors in between hospital visits. They've got an arsenal they can tap into also...

I would recommend you see your GP and ask them to test a stool sample. As I'm sure you know, chemo can strip your immune system & make you vulnerable to other infections. You might have a bug that just won't go by itself. Oncologists are very good at dealing with things directly related to cancer & its treatment, but sometimes you need to step back. I speak from indirect experience as something similar happened to my mum. Also, her friend who was not on chemo and apparently fit & well had similar symptoms for 2 years before she finally got a test which showed a bug that was cured by a course of antibiotics.
