Looks like Virgin have just released those pods , I've just had a very quick read and they look interesting and might fix your issue

Well... I was hoping they would but it seems they're being delivered by yodel so dd will likely have moved out (shes 13 now) by the time they arrive!

Buy a mesh. By far best solution. I have the Orbi RBK50 with 3 satellites but that’s expensive even if superb.
I installed a TP Link mesh for my in laws last weekend, decent piece of kit for £99. They are delighted with a full speed signal now all over their house,
