My niece has always been petrified of rides and is very suspicious of things. We got her and SIL on Jurassic Park by not telling them about the end and they didn't speak to me for about 3 hours. You'd have thought they'd learned after I got them on ToT SIL couldn't walk after that one.

Anyway, niece entered the ride queue for RnRC on the first visit but chickened out when she saw the car zoom off. 2 years later she got as far as sitting down in the seat and then got off again. Finally last year she did it, and of course immediately wanted to do it again.

I bought her a RnRC hoodie

Good work - cost me $50 to bribe my daughter to do a loop coaster at Bush Gardens. She doesn't have my fear and will go on anything.

Even better - my wife can do mild coasters and got swept along in my daughters new found enthusiasm thinking Cheetah was a ride to see some animals got a bit of a shock. She swore. A lot.

Should do your research...

Loving this thread !
When my DD was 11, we were picked to 'open' Blizzard Beach. My dd was ski captain for the day and we were given a cabana etc. She was to open the park by being the first down Summit Plummet.

Picture the scene, my DD sat at the top, arms crossed, the announcer counts down over the tannoy ' Jess, from England, opening the park, 10, 9 ,8 etc ..'

My little girl turns to me and says, ' Mum, I can't do it !'

In my defence for what I did next, my first thought was that if she didn't do it, she would be like me, always afraid of everything,
so I just replied 'Course you can, sweetie', and gave her a gentle push !
Cue much, much screaming as she whooshed down !

Actually made her feel 15 feet tall , she has never been afraid of any coasters since, so I feel (slightly) justified !
My family have never, ever let me forget the day I failed as a mother and often tell me not to 'push them off' at the top of slides etc!

I have no fear of rides and will go on anything. My husband had never been on a ride prior to our first Orlando visit in 2016.

He didn't do Tower of Terror in 2016 but braved it last year. I somehow remember it being a lot less intense that it actually was so I'd talked it down to hubby. As soon as he lifted off his seat, and for a good few seconds, he grabbed hold of my shorts and tried to pull himself back down. He wasn't happy when he came off but said he'll give it another go next year when we go back. Fingers crossed as I think he'll take one look and hear the screaming and turn straight back around

Will ride absolutely anything except:
1) Teacups in MK. Instrument of torture. Never again.
2) Gwazi at BG. Think it gave me concussion. Won't ever have to ride it again because they're ripping it down. Not a moment too soon.

Nothing funny about it. I was begging the children to stop spinning the wheel whilst trying to avoid throwing up over them. I should have let the little beggars have it...

I can still see the look of horror on my Mum's face when we went on this ride years ago😂😂😂.
