Nassau and Paradise Island are like two entirely different environments separated by a bridge.

Most of the cruise ship visitors only see Nassau and it doesn't give a great impression.

Paradise Island has some fantastic beaches and if that is what you are looking for it will deliver.

We have an enormous amount of experience of the Bahamas - I'd guess maybe 6 hours at Nassau on a cruise port stop.

Not a place I'd rush back to for a holiday but as there's around 700 islands in the Bahamas there must be some nicer ones.

For just a crashing out beach break there's loads of places on the Gulf coast such as AMI, Longboat Key, Fort Myers Beach etc. Over 10 years since we stayed overnight though so couldn't recommend any specifically. We prefer the Gulf to the Atlantic but that's just a personal opinion.

So can I ask, if you was choosing a nice beach hotel to relax in for 5 days after Orlando what area and hotel would you choose.
Open for ideas as usually we do Orlando abs the parks for 2 weeks and then other parts of world for our relaxing beach stays.
Have a look at Anna Marie Island. We went for just one night... beautiful! Xxx

I have been to Atlantis twice when my children were young and they loved it. It is big, brash and expensive but great for children.

Nassau is a town with large cruise ships docking.

For my 40th birthday we flew from Fort Lauderdale to Great Exuma and it was a world away from Paradise Island. It was so relaxing and lovely.

The closest I have seen to that in Florida is Anna Maria.

Now this is on my bucket list,

I like your style but $40k for 7 nights is a bit much 😉

I as the same, very disappointed with it and it was meant to be highlight of cruise! Would nt go back, thankfully we were only there a few hours!

October is only 17K for the week! It is gorgeous and reminds me of French Polynesia which is on my bucket list and while pricey - not the 17K for 7 nights that the cheapest room here is! But if I ever win the lotto...
