Italy - 14 days September 2020 - Pre travel day

Hope you are well and keeping safe (and sane)

Long time reader but don't post as much, but having a go at uploading my recent trip So the trip was 14 days across Italy, won't give away too much of where until each upload..

Myself and my partner got a direct train from Hertfordshire down to Gatwick airport, straight forward 1 hour and 30 minutes or so, seeing some of London briefly on the way, we stayed at the Ibis not far from Gatwick.

Little tip for those who use Ibis at Gatwick, if travelling day before and need something to do, buy a local bus ticket from Metrorider (i think!) £4.70 for 24 hours, can use it to get to Gatwick airport the next day providing you leave before it runs out, also can use it to get to Crawley Leisure Park which has a cineworld, restaurants, bowling etc. This bus is a lot more frequent and quicker than the hotel shuttles. Didn't use the leisure park as it was shut due to covid but have done on previous airport stopovers.

Back to Ibis, there is a Aldi, TK Maxx, B&M, Boots and some other shops just a 10 minute walk away. Very useful if you haven't paid for breakfast in the hotel or need last minute items, I'll come back to B&M..

Had some food from local chippy which was 5 minute bus journey away then settled for the night before flying the next day.
