AVIS car hire question

Hi
We have a car booked through AVIS do we need to apply for an International Driving Permit? I have just read the voucher and it indicated we need this.
We normally book Alamo and never needed this before.
We travel 27/11/21 I can see we order at the Post Office but unsure if to order and will we get it sorted in time ? Thanks in advance

We always use Avis and have never had an international driving licence, we are here now via Avis on our UK driving licences

Providing your licence is written in English, the Americans will be able to understand it... no IDP needed.
