staying near busch gardens

We are looking to stay over at Tampa for a couple of nights during our trip in October, this is so that it is not to far to travel when we go to Busch for two days and then have a day on the beach before returning to Orlando

I have heard that the hotels by Busch gardens are not in the safest area and that cars parked around the hotels are regularly broken into

Have any of you got any recommendations of where to stay whilst at Busch

When we went to busch in May we noticed a Hard Rock hotel nearby. I don't know exactly where it is but it was off the main road (is it I 4?) and on the approach to Busch Gardens. I would imagine that would be OK.

I don't have any other information though - sorry. Maybe Bob and Dawn or X-File will remember it better than me I'm hopeless with directions and road names.

Hi, when we went to Busch we stayed at the Ramada in Clearwater, you have a great view and a beach to relax on after your hectic day at Busch. Alternativley you could just pop into Busch gardens after your stay at Clearwater
