Kids too young?
We really want to do the West Coast but not sure when would be best from a kids age perspective with it being a bit of a road trip.
Next year my kids will be 12 & 10. Still too young or about right? Would love to hear of your experiences and how old your kids were when you traveled. |

Not too young at all. Plenty to do to keep them happy as well as see some of the sights you will want to see.

Depends on the kids I guess
Mine have been going to the west coast since they were babies and doing road trips since the youngest was 8 , but mine were used to long 5/6 hr drives here. We never do road trips longer than 5 hrs , no stays shorter than 3 nights . |

Will let you know in about 18 days!
We are day 2 into or first road trip with a 12 year old So far all good, we have made sure that each destination has something for everyone, for example while in Los Angeles we are doing six flags magic mountain theme park and while we are coming back down the coast we have lots of surfing planned in

We've been 3 times West Coast... my daughter was 7 (2009), 10 (2012) and 14 (2016)... all have been road trips as well... ok we have stayed in Anaheim for a week once or twice but we easily clock up 2000+ miles... gave our daughter the option of choosing the holiday this year because of her year studying for her GCSE's... her choice? California... says it all really
