Tupperware

I am hoping that if I pack a "tupperware type" container for the room it will keep pastries ok for a couple of days. Do you think that would work?

I'd go to the contemp cafe and stock up. We did this when we moved to the Boardwalk. We did get some sandwiches which were nice the following day. Also lots of drinks and muffins which were good for breakfast. You could get bagels which will last a few days. As you are at the Contemporary anyway it's easy to go there and then out then straight in your fridge.

I take a handful of zip-lok bags to pack my take-aways in. The 'to go' packing used in most places is cardboard and doesn't seal properly, so food will go hard (or soggy) in those.

You could take a container or two - especially if they stack inside each other for transport.

We took most of the pastries from our BoG breakfast. Unfortunately they were loose in my backpack and got squished the first time, and last time the CM packed them up for us in a cardboard box which didn't seal (as there were too many cakes - they'd given us a second tray) but we were able to eat them for our afternoon snack instead of buying lunch.

Just to point out, we are fairly unlikely to have any counter credits left over, even though we're going off site shopping a couple of times and will eat at Sweet Tomatoes and Five Guys. However, if we do, buying a 'to go' boxed salad or flatbread or something is the way to go.

There is also a shop in the Contemporary which sells some food items. I can't remember exactly what but s the DVC resorts sell some things that are aimed at self caterers.

Absolutely! We only stayed 2 nights at BLT last year so only got to go to Comtempo once. We hardly scratched the surface! Plus I've been told the provisions shop is on the right as you enter that floor from the walkway - possibly how we missed it last year - and I can get all sorts of things from there, apparentlly - including a 1 pint container of Haagen Daz ice cream ...

I won't be wasting any credits on bottled water, though - I get water from Walmart as it makes much better tea, and we can partially freeze the bottles overnight to take to the parks with us. As I said, we're in a one-bed so will have a full size fridge/freezer.

Both typed at the same time! haha

Yes, it puzzles me that the provisions shop is in the Contemporary rather than actually in BLT itself. Seems a bit bonkers to me ...

It's just so disappointing that Goods' to Go at OKW is so bloody awful: we're spending 8 nights there first. There is a provisions section at the back of the gift shop, though, so we can probably get some stuff in there before we leave our suitcases with bell services and pack it up to be transferred with our cases.

It's called fantasia market.

There is a video here.

The market is from about 2 minutes in.

If you have a freezer I'd just buy lots of Mickey bars

I don't care for them, and DD can't eat them (as she's lactose itolerant).

I'd rather buy a big tub of ice cream and keep it in the freezer - the flavours are amazing.

Nope, missed that completely last time! I also see they sell big containers of ZephyrHills water! I bet they're a lot more expensive than in Walmart though - I bought 3l bottles in there for $1 each!
