Now and then we get post from people who want to buy property in Florida both for their own use and to let out. Has the CV events changed your mind?

Best. Advice we were given when buying don't unless you can pay all your bills for at least 18 months without rentals
We still adhear to that advice

Not a all.

We've looked seriously a few times and would only buy cash, never on any sort of loan and not rely on any sort of renting.

The whole point of owning a property over there would be for us to use it, when we wanted.

Keeping a close eye on prices over the next 12 to 24 months.

Prices will be falling like stones in the next few months. I just spoke to our former MC, and they said that at least 50% of their owners have gone bust and many more to follow...

I would steer well away from rental villas for a long time, as they are on a very rocky road.

I don�t have any interest in buying in Florida but if I did, no, recent events would not change anything.

If anything recent events have just made me more resolved to doing it. Who knows what's round the corner do it while you have the chance
