I use Caxton and FairFx. Pretty similar, I use Caxton for ATM withdrawals as they don't charge a fee, and FairFx for most spending as they usually have a better top up rate. I did have a Revolut card but closed it after a trip to New York last Autumn when I got hammered in ATM charges when using it.

The problem with Revolut is that whilst their exchange rates are excellent, you can only withdraw a certain amount each month fee free

We've been using a Revolut card for our last few trips overseas and think its great.

While it is true that they charge fees for withdrawing cash from an ATM (I think the first £200 is free per month?), this has never been an issue for us as we just use it directly for all purchases rather than withdrawing lots of cash.

We have used the Thomson money card the last few years
Been great, even when one year we lost the card, great service to help us resolve the issue
Highly recommend

But it's free to use as a debit card, so I don't keep taking money out, as I don't in the UK anymore.

Very rarely even carry cash these days. Changed some more today at $1.42, certainly better than last year at $1.24...

Was on Martin Lewis' MSE site & am undecided between Revolut & the Halifax Clarity card. Had always just used a mix of travellers chq & cash before. Leaning towards Revolut. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

We both have FairFX and Post Office travel money cards. Never had any problems with either.
