Off on Navigator of the Seas in 3 weeks!

We are off to Rome in three weeks to board the Navigator of the Seas for an eastern med cruise. Can't wait! I love reading all these cruise related things, gets me excited for my trip! Would love to do a DCL trip one day, maybe in 2015?

Have a great time. I've only done 2 one with DCL and the other with Carnival and I loved them both. It's very addictive! Spent the last week trying to decide what to do next summer and which line to try. The Med ones are really expensive next year compared to what we paid for this year. Got my eye on the Regal Princess as it goes to Istanbul.

I'm certain you will have a great time with RCI.
We are just back off a 7 night Med on Liberty of the Seas and were very impressed with the ship and the whole crew.

We sailed on the Magic in 2011 and with Carnival in 2012 and felt after our Carnival cruise we had been spoiled by the service and entertainment on DCL!
Our first experience with RCI was very good, this ship had the DreamWorks experience so there were 2 character breakfasts, daily appearances by the Madagascar and Shrek characters and even a lively parade along the Royal Promenade which runs through the length of the ship on deck 5.

Disney definitely has the edge, but RCI are doing an exceptional job and you will not be disappointed sailing with them.
I would try and plan for the DCL trip in 2015 though - you won't be sorry!

We are back on the Magic for a 12 day next year and simply cannot wait

That's great to read..
We are doing a TransAtlantic cruise on the Liberty in 7 weeks. This is our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, our first cruise away from DCL! Any tips for the ship would be great.
We are back on the Magic doing both TransAtlantic's next year.

Liberty was impressive and HUGE Michelle! Space was never an issue, even with 4000 guests on board it never felt crowded. Try to use the forward elevators as most people tend to use the aft (as they are closer to the restaurants).
Don't miss the main shows - Saturday Night Fever, In the Air and the Ice Show - all 3 were excellent, on a par with Disney productions.
Get to the promenade about 30 mins before the DreamWorks Parade so you can get a front row seat outside the Pub.

If you want to do the character breakfasts (usually 2 of them), go to the My Time Dining desk outside the restaurant on deck 5 and they will take your booking. Once you have done the first one, go back the next day and reserve the second one - they don't really advertise it but they will give you the dates at the desk.
You get 3 characters at each breakfast and plenty of photo opportunities with every character.

If any of your party intend using the flowrider, climbing wall or fancy going Ice Skating, make sure you complete the online waiver in the manage your booking section - this saves having to fill out forms on board.

We will be booking with RCI in the future, it really is the next best thing to DCL .You will have a fantastic time on Liberty.
If you want to know anything else, just ask.

Hi all, I'm on the Navigator now! Just left Civitavecchia, heading for Messina, Sicily! Currently sat in the solarium with a nice cold coke! Haven't been on a cruise for a while and forgot why I liked it so much!

Hi Andy,

Thank you so much for the tips.
We're going to give the ice show a miss, DH doesn't want to see it, we can book it online if we change our minds
We've booked for the character breakfast, nice tip about the other one.
I'm still on the fence about a soda package - did you bother with one?

Sorry OP for hijacking your thread
