I've always found the scrambled eggs at DLH lovely Gill. But yes it's not English breakfast - but I don't think it professes to be. My Mum swears by the soft boiled eggs - she raves for at least an hour after (each day!) about how nice they are and how they keep them just right! Lol! In fact, she still talks about them at times! To be fair, I haven't stayed for a while now as our last visit was a budget one so we stayed at SQL GF. The way things get cut, it might be that the DLH doesn't even do said boiled eggs anymore! But paying 30 euros for such things isn't an option is it.
I do know what the OP means though - you do fancy something warming when you are going out all day into the cold. The other option would be to stop at Starbucks or coffee shop on main street and get a warm pain au chocolat and coffee maybe to warm up. Not ideal if you are on a budget and you've paid for breakfast at your hotel. But it's a nice little rest stop which we've done, before we realised we could do EMH then go back for breakfast at the DLH! That would be our preferred option now. |

We stayed at Hotel New York last Feb 2015 half term and cooked breakfast was included everyday. Bacon , sausage, eggs, pancake, fried potatoes, baked beans etc.
We found by having a good cooked Breakfast, booking a late lunch ie: 2.30 ish and using our snack credit for a hot drink and a donut at 6pm ish that we didn't need to buy any extra food as this was included on the half board plus dining plan.
