Credit score
Do you check or worry about your credit score? Every month I get an email suggesting I check, mostly I send it straight to trash and move on.
If you are not applying for credit does it actually make a difference. Should I actually be checking each month? |

I never bothered until a year or so ago when Experian offered the service free.
I now get an E Mail every Month and just have a nose at what I am showing. I suppose with all the scams going on in the World we should all check regularly to ensure our data is correct and we haven't become a victim to fraud. I now view it like my online banking which I check every morning to ensure I haven't been robbed!

Yes you should, it will help show that you have not suffered from identity fraud as a starter.
Caution is to not use one which is designed to give a lower score to upsell products such as those you see advertised on TV. Money saving expert has their credit club which is free to use and provides you a monthly report that highlights any changes such as new credit checks. |

No but I do have an identity monitor with my bank account that sends me a text and email if anyone enquiries about me or there is a new search.

I check mine, and am lucky enough to be at the top end. However, I recently got declined an increase in my Barclaycard limit. I didn't really need it though, so haven't bothered investigating it!

I check my credit report, to make sure all is as it should be, no strange accounts opened in my name etc, but I pay no attention to the actual "score" I get.
Well, I guess that's not entirely true - if my score wasn't in the green and high, it'd lead me to investigate why, as there's no reason why it shouldn't be good.

I have alerts set up on my credit file which should email me and, like another poster, I am not interested in my score per se but the file. I maybe check it a handful of times a year - used to be monthly but now I have alerts it is probably every 3 or 4 months. Bank accounts every morning tho (and CC every day or so) .

I can see my credit score on my on-line banking app. Do all credit score companies show the same score ?
Mine is good but says I could do better by taking a mortgage 😱 |
