I've been tracking flight prices after booking to try and get a better feel when the best time to book is... can be painful when you find it cheaper I know but in the long term it should work out!

As it happens the club world dates I had been tracking jumped in price a few weeks back by an additional £1,200/pp but in the sale now tracking around +£200 extra... naughty.

I know they're competing companies and everything, but it's very frustrating that VA release their fares before BA, and BA have their seat sale a week or two before VA. It makes it impossible to get like-for-like quotes - leave the BA seat flight sale until Virgin's comes out, and the BA one has nothing left.

We got our return tickets for August in BA's seat sale in January: at £1,000 each with WT+ both ways it was £500 cheaper than VA's equivalent. Needless to say 2 weeks after booking VA's seat sale started. I didn't dare check what they had in case I could have got VA for the same or less!

You really have to hold your nerve when it comes to flights and bargains!

When BA has sale Virgin has a sale always the case. So standby for Virgins sale it won't be long.

Who said price fixing was illegal :-)
