Hi,

We're off to Seattle end of April.

I have done a fair bit of research but just wondering if anyone has any hints or tips which they feel may improve our trip? Or places not to miss other than the usual tourist places.

I'd be keen to hear about nice places to eat in the Downtown area including bakeries. We are not fancy eaters, we enjoy decent burgers, bbq etc.

Hubby is a gaming & music nerd so any info on shops to visit would be good.

We are 2 adults.

Tia

We’re going next year! We are music nerd too & love the whole gunge scene! If that’s the sort of music he’s into check out the stalking Seattle tour, it’s a personal VIP tour & looks amazing! We can’t wait to go, I hope you have an awesome time 👌🏻

We are there very briefly in April, arriving at Tacoma, overnighting and then driving to Vancouver next morning.

Time is short, but we are staying at Renton for the night, very close to Tacoma. At Renton is the original Boeing Field with its very extensive Boeing museum and collection of related aircraft, centred around the historic ‘Red Barn’ where it all began.

Up the road in Everett (just North of Seattle) is the biggest building in the World and where the majority of Boeing production is based. You can get a tour of the plant. (We don’t have time).

We are leaving Seattle and using the Chuckanut Drive that runs along the edge of Puget Sound for 21 miles. It is meant to be ‘picturesque’.

Other things of note (we did research just in case) are the late Paul Allen’s Flying heritage and combat armour museum, that has a very large collection of WW2 fighter aircraft, including many very rare German Aircraft and next to the glass museum in the city centre, a very tall tower that you can go up.

Can’t help with music, other than what you will doubtless already know.

The Boeing plant was really interesting. We ate a few times in Pike Place market.

I loved Chiluly Glass museum.

It is a lovely city!

All the above plus would definitely recommend the Free Walking Tour, a ride on a Duck boat and a trip on the ferry to Bainbridge Island.

Chihuly Glass (stunning!), Pop Culture Museum and the Space Needle are all next to each other, so easy to do. The monorail runs straight there too.

We loved Seattle. You can read about our trip in the report in my signature. We're going back there in September as part of our next road trip too - can't wait!

Thanks. There seems to be a lot of aircraft stuff there. Hoping to get to one of them. Hope you have a fab time there too.

Thanks. Glad you think the city is lovely as I've read a few negatives lately but I guess all cities have their problems.
