Short layover at Atlanta
We are going this August, flying back from Tampa-Atlanta-Heathrow.
The layover time in Atlanta is only 1 hour 15 minutes. Does anyone have any experience of this? Worried that the connection time is too short. We are flying with Delta. Thanks. |

Coming back won’t be a problem as you don’t have to clear immigration and customs. You just clear security and go to the gate. How long is your layover going out?

It should be fine, but dont hang about !. If youre flying Delta all the way through, you have nothing to worry about if anything happens. This is only on the way back , mind. On the way out I would want far more than 3 hrs to be honest.
I flew back from Atlanta last week and all the passengers were there well before we flew. I know this to be right because we had a delay on boarding due to an A/C issue and all passengers were confirmed as being at the gate. Again, get your skates on and tell your crew that you need to connect. |

Pretty much everyone is connecting on the TPA-ATL leg 😁
Your only concern is a delay out of TPA, eg due to weather. |

When you get off the plane look for the down escalators to the train platform. There are boards to confirm your terminal and gate.
We did it in 20 minutes from exiting the plane. Download the Delta app as well. |

I am quite risk averse and would not do that, would be far too stressful for me. I would want at least three hours on way out. I am not saying it is impossible, but just not for me.

Looking at a flight coming home at Atlanta with connection of 50 minutes is that not enough? If we miss plane will we have to wait 24 hours for next one back to Manchester?
