Definitely worth keeping an eye on then as I might miss the UK free dining offer because of waiting for reward flight seats to become available.

Thank you so much for all the advice.
Booked this holiday on impulse - completely unlike me before looking at how much park and accommodation will cost and in a bit of a panic! Last time we went I planned for an entire year! |

Just did a dummy booking for 17th August 2016. 12 nights, Boardwalk Inn, standard room only: UK site £4164. US site £2708. I'm shocked - thanks so much for the tip OP!

It's enough to offset the cost of the free dining plan here! It's opened up a few more possibilities for us. Namely Aug 2017 instead of 2018 ;-)

If you don't have your heart set on a specific resort and can be flexible with dates the US offers can sometimes be better than the UK ones. Especially if you want a deluxe. You can't book as far in advance though and we had the problem one year that we'd booked flights then when US free dining came out our dates didn't fit.

Does their free dining plan usually offer the same items as the UK one? Any issues with having a Magic My Way ticket instead of the 14-day Ultimate?

Dining plan is dining plan. There isn't a UK or US one it's all the same plan. The offer is whether it's free or not. No issue having MYW ticket except you can only get a maximum of 10 days and you need to add on park hopping and water parks etc.

As sha9 says, offers on the US site can be really good, but they are usually only availbale at shorter notice. Great if you are planning a last minute trip, or one with just a few months notice. We used the US site in 2013 for a last minute booking at pop century. It worked out well as we were only going for 9 nights so the MYW 10 day ticket was perfect for us. We were very lucky and managed to get free dining (on the US site you get the QSDP for free at a value resort and the DDP for free at a moderate or deluxe) and a room discount. In the end we paid $2300 for 9 nights at pop including tickets and a upgrade to DDP for 2 adults and 2 children (both under 3 at the time though). I thought it was a bargain!
