Liverpool drop off

Does anyone know how you can get dropped off for the Liverpool sailings?

DH is going to drive us and drop us off, but I assume he’ll need to leave and wait somewhere in case we’re denied boarding and need collecting. How might this work? Have DCL suggested they will be planning for this kind of situation if they have to turn people away?

Is there anywhere that people know of nearby that DH could stop and wait until we let him know what’s happening?

There is a ton of roadworks going on at the moment around the cruise terminal.
There is a Costco close by with a big car park less than 5 minutes away.

That sounds perfect, I’ll send him there!

If its any thing like our Costco I would have a back up plan to park somewhere else as ours gets quite full just with Costco members. They could even check you are a member before allowing people in to park if too many other people start to park there.

There is a pay and display parking by Albert Dock, he could park there and walk over the bridge to the arena with you, depending on luggage, then sit outside Jury’s hotel with a coffee or go into the Albert Dock.
Turn into Gower Street (Wapping) and parking is on the left, you’ll see the bridge and the arena.

It’s only a 5 minute walk from the Car Park. Costco is a pain to get to.

Alternatively, he could drop you off and park in the John Lewis multi storey, which takes you directly through the store to Liverpool 1 and Chavasse Park where there are lots of cafes.

That sounds good, I’ll have a look at those ideas, thank you!

Personally I’d try and park at the Albert dock as I’m sure they’ve said the testing will be in the arena. There’s some lovely little cafes and coffee places nearby that would be great for him to wait at. Then from there you could walk to the ship along the dock.
That’s what we’re planning to do, except we’re just being dropped at the docks as we live in Liverpool anyway
