Paying Annual Dues On An Ad Hoc Basis.

I have my Contracts linked to a Credit Card so every January I get billed for the whole lot.

That Credit Card gives me cashback (MBNA Horizon) but this year it would suit me to pay £500 in advance every month instead thus ending up with a zero balance due come Jan 20.

Is it possible to do that as when I checked the Members website it says if I am 'auto enrolled' then it can't be done.

Or is it a case of ringing Member Accounting?

Many thanks.

Not sure about the auto enrolled- does it stop you paying in advance? Have you gone onto pay dues then pay by contract and just tried making a payment and it gives you the warning there is no balance do you want to pay anyway? That is what I do, every month. If the auto enrolled doesnt allow you to do that, then ring them up and get it removed?

So I first select this:

Then I select this and just pay against each contract:

I have three visible under this one as same use year.

For each one select 'pay other amount' and put in how much you want to pay.

I noticed there is also a 'manage autopay' button so maybe you can just switch it off there is it is preventing you from accessing these.

You'll have to try and tally up how much dues will roughly be on each one at the end of the year.

YT. Good speech. I'm not concerned with clearing it to absolute zero but I am on a Spring cleaning purge with finances and I think it will help me budget better as opposed to having to find £5K+/- in January.

Very sensible- whilst I don't have to find 5k, I find it immensely helpful to just clear it in advance- last January I think I had about $200 only left to pay. Much better than having to pay it in one go, you don't lose much by way of interest and hedge the exchange rate.

Hopefully you will be able to pay the amount off the contracts as and when you want as shown by YorkshireT.

Although I have my Halifax Clarity Card linked to my DVC online account I have been able to make payments each month for the last couple of years, which means when the bill arrives I only owe a very small amount.

Thank you. Now that 2 of you say yes it looks like I was overthinking it and can now go ahead.

Basically my Wife puts some of her Pension into a separate account each month but of course I can see it via online banking and always have the urge to use it.

Thanks for this information as I was unaware that you could start paying towards next year’s fees. I have $1450 saved on my Revolut Card and I must admit I’m a bit nervous that someone could hack the account. I will certainly be transferring this ASAP.
