Thoughts on WDW Dolphin resort

If free dining does not become available for next year what are your thoughts/opinions on staying at the Dolphin resort over either CSR or CBR?

Thanks

They are in a good position but will have building work going on on the opposite of the road for a while as Marriott Hotels, who own both Dolphin & Swan, are building The Cove as a Convention Centre Hotel there. If your a Marriott or one of their subsidiary hotels member then some good reasons to book them for hotel points or Airmiles

I believe that there is a resort charge at both the Swan and Dolphin of $28 per day plus a parking charge, so you'll probably need to add at least another $50 a day to what ever price you get quoted.

They are conference type hotels and don't have the same feel as the other resorts - Has a similar feel to Contemporary Resort. It depends on whether you want to get a bit more of the magical feeling. I wouldn't choose them as a holiday hotel myself, but each to their own.

I stayed in the Dolphin a few years ago. The location is really good and the pool was quite nice, but the room felt soleless and damp. The staff weren't particularly friendly either. I didn't get a warm feeling from the hotel and I would not stay again for the price.

We stayed a few years ago too..obviously a fab location,we had a firework view balcony for NYE,but we were so disappointed overall with our stay, like you said, the room was so damp, housekeeping were just rubbish,we had torn old raggedy towels two days running despite complaining, just not what you'd expect from a good hotel.

We loved our stay at the Dolphin (five nights over NYE 2017). Excellent location and fresh fab rooms.

I would have rather been at the Boardwalk or Yacht Club but Disney wanted £2400. I paid £850 for the Dolphin, so frankly it was a no brainer.

We stayed at the Dolphin once and paid OOP for all meals and probably saved a good bit however the next year we went back to the Yacht Club because it's just isn't ' Disney ' there.
Hard to explain but we thought the real Disney hotel worth the extra £1,000
No complaints about the Dolphin though it's a nice hotel and we had a balcony room with a fabulous view

Thanks for your replies- hadn’t realised they were building another hotel nor the resort fee. That makes the decision slightly easier to pick either CSR or CBR!
