Dining Plan first timer... practical questions

Hi all. I'm a DW veteran but never before used the dining plan. This August we have the free standard dining plan (1QS 1YS + 2 snacks) for my family of five "adults" incl. my 12yo, 13yo and 16yo) for 10 nights at OKW. I've made a plethora of dining reservations at 180 days and we can't wait!

I have a few questions about practicalities of using the DDP:

- Are all credits for the whole family linked for the whole duration? So we'll have 50 TS, 50 QS and 100 snacks? If so, can any one of the party spend any quantity of these credits using their own magicband at any time? (I can see my 16yo going crazy with the snacks! but equally, if I queue and buy 5 QS meals it would be good not to have to have everyone queue with me to swipe their magic bands...)

- If we eat at a TS restaurant and my petite little 12yo doesn't want a full-on adult meal, can we use 4 TS credits and pay out-of-pocket for her small meal (such as a child's meal if the server permits, or even a side-salad or other side-dish)? If so, how does this work practically? Do I need to tell the server at the beginning of the meal that some of us won't be using the DDP or can it all be sorted out at the end of the meal?

- If I order 5 snacks at a snack cart, can I stipulate to use my snack credits for, say, 4 of them but buy the fifth out-of-pocket? (e.g. 4 portions of french fries from "Good's Food to Go" at OKW and 1 portion of cheese sauce, all of which qualify as snacks but cheese sauce is only $1 so I wouldn't waste a credit on it...)

- Can all tips be charged to the disney room account? Do they suggest tips on the bill (i.e. calculate 18% for you)?

I think I probably have other practical questions but thanks in advance for your help with these ;-)

Yes all the credits are available to everyone in the room from checkout. You do need a PIN though so if you don't tell your 16 year old they can't spend the credits!
Basically tell your server at the start that you have DDP and would like to use X credits and pay OOP for a specific meal or item. Just double check that they take the right amount. The only time this is an issue is buffet and family style where it's all you can eat as you won't be able to buy a child's meal for an 10 year old or over.
You can charge tips to your room using the magic band. Just write the amount you want to tip in the gratuity line.
